Chris McCarthy

Bass, Cello, Vocals

As a performer, Chris maintains a healthy balance of classical and non-classical music. He is Assistant Principal Cellist of the Dana Point Symphony and has performed with Symphony Irvine, the Montage Civic Orchestra, Orange Coast College Orchestra, Irvine Valley College Orchestra, and Crystal Cathedral Hour of Power Orchestra. Chris is cellist of the Bartolotti String Quartet and co- founded a cello quartet, Love4Cello. Chris has also recorded on soundtracks for numerous student films, most notably as solo cellist for Mitsuyo Miyazaki’s Tsuyako. Chris is also an active musician with the singer/songwriter scene in Orange County, having recorded for such artists as Molly Bryant, Danny Maika, Kurt Hunter, and Hannah & Maggie.
As an educator, Chris maintains a busy private studio with students throughout Orange County. He is a lower strings coach for Oak Middle School, Rancho Santa Margarita Catholic High School, and the South Coast Youth Symphony Orchestra in Mission Viejo, which toured the United Kingdom (2011) and Spain (2009). He is also a certified Suzuki teacher, having studied with Rick Mooney and Dr. Tanya Carey throughout his teacher training.
Chris graduated from The Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSU Long Beach with his Bachelor of Music, Instrumental Music and is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is the cello faculty position for the Casa Romantica Music Festival and Academy, a two- week summer program that incorporates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) activities for children 9-13 years old. Chris’ past teachers include Joon-Sung Jun and Dr. David Garrett.

 

Niko Jasniewicz

Drums, Percussion, Vocals

Niko Jasniewicz is an active percussion educator, designer, arranger and performer. A graduate of the University of Southern California, where he studied music performance and education, as well as recording arts and music technology, Niko received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities/Music in 2006. Since the beginning of his performance career in 1997 he has continued to travel the country with many ensembles and performance groups. He has had the privilege of studying with some of the best performers, educators, and composers in both the academic and marching arts settings including: Tom Float, Catherine Float, Scott Johnson, Sean Vega, Morton Lauridsen, Neal Desby, Roy McCurdy, and Sinclair Lott. Additionally, he is an active touring performer and designer for Aerial Experience Productions as their Percussion Director.
